Pisa

I think we are finally learning from our mistakes... Arriving on time and even a little early before your flight or train is much nicer than rushing. We arrive to the station in plenty of time, jump on the train, and off we go over to Pisa! It was only a short one hour and fifteen minute train ride. We had decided to spend our last night in Pisa simply due to the fact that flights were cheaper from Pisa to Barcelona, Spain, rather than from Florence or Rome. So we arrived at the station, tried to look at the bus route map but it didn't explain anything due to all the holes in the map and everything seemed very confusing, at the time. So I mapped out the nearest point of interest closest to our hotel and figured it wasn't that far of a walk. So we went on our way an was heading towards the famous Leaning Tower of Pisa!! We walked down a lot of really cute streets and there were lots of people, stores, and I really noticed a lot of dogs! After walking about 25 minutes I figured it was a lot farther than I had anticipated. Then, all of a sudden, there it was.... Ms. Leaning and boy was she REALLY leaning!!!! I couldn't believe it! I was amazed, shocked, astonished, and simply at a loss of words as to how this thing was leaning so much yet still standing - well leaning to be exact. But WOW, I could not believe it and I kept saying to Courtney "that thing is really leaning!" It was definitely awesome to see and made me want to research it a little bit more. So after checking out the tower we checked into our AMAZING hotel and then took off for a bite to eat and since it was going to be our last night in Italy, we decided to have pasta AND pizza! Mmmmmm.... Not to mention it was lasagna! We met some cool people at the restaurant, chatted for a while and ended up staying there for a couple of hours! We only arrived around 6pm and our flight was the next morning at 8 am so we didn't have much time in Pisa! We went back after supper, jumped into our PJ's and was out like a light. We were awoken by 5 and it was time to say good-bye to Italy once and for all.... But not for good. I will be back because I quickly realized that 10 days in Italy is definitely not enough!
